How does Invisalign work
The Invisalign System is a virtually invisible orthodontic treatment that uses an innovative approach to effectively straighten teeth. With the proprietary Smart Force Technology, the Invisalign System uses a series of custom-made removable aligners created for you and only you. These aligners are made of a virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth to gradually move them to the ideal position. Most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them, allowing you to keep your lifestyle during treatment. The Invisalign System is available through our Invisalign-trained dentists who determine the treatment plan. When you begin treatment you’ll be wearing a set of aligners customised for your mouth and as the aligners gently move your teeth into position, you will be given a new set. You wear each set of aligners for about two weeks. Total Treatment time varies on severity of the case, usually from 6 months to 24 months. Treatment Time can take longer if aligners are not being worn correctly for 23 hours a day.

One of the most common questions asked about Invisalign is the length of treatment, it’s much quicker than traditional metal braces. The average course of treatment for Invisalign takes about one year. You will be required to visit Rubery Dental Surgery every 6 to 8 weeks for adjustments and to check your progress. Throughout the treatment process, you will receive a new set of custom moulded clear aligners every one to two weeks. There is no set number of aligners for everyone, as each person’s teeth are different and require a different degree of alignment. Your Invisalign Treatment Stages
A series of detailed impressions, photos and x-rays are taken. A computer scan will be made of your impressions and a simulation of orthodontic treatment will be made on the computer. Following this, your precise series of clear aligners will be computer constructed. Your treatment will begin about six weeks after your impressions are taken. The cost of your treatment directly depends on the difficulty, length and time of treatment required.
