Facial Injectables

A great looking smile looks even better when framed by a supple and relaxed face. We offer Botox and Dermal Fillers. These delay and reverse the effects of ageing on the skin by reducing wrinkles and fine lines. Wrinkle relaxers are one of the most popular cosmetic treatments. Worry and stress lines are inevitable in today’s fast-paced and demanding society. And if you’re also like us, you’ve probably noticed that a life well-lived and full of laughter has also led to those crinkle in the corners of your eyes and mouth becoming less resistant to fading away. Cosmetic injections such as anti-wrinkle treatments Botox and dermal fillers at Rubery Dental Surgery can soften the effects of stress and reduce these signs of early aging. Your trusted dentist Dr Harpreet Malhi knows oral and facial anatomy extremely well, which positions her incredibly well to reliably implement dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle products to help you achieve the look you’ve been hoping for.

COSMETIC INJECTIONS WITH A DENTIST YOU CAN TRUST

Dentists are in a fantastic position to provide non-surgical cosmetic procedures. Dentofacial aesthetics is a new approach in cosmetic dentistry which considers how the overall structure of your face contributes to your smile. Aesthetic improvements can then be made with Botox and dermal fillers. Dentists have the advantage of specialty training in the structure of the face so we are have an extra level of skill when delivering these treatments. We are well-versed in the art of gentle dentistry and have administered thousands of injections and know how to do it without causing discomfort to the patient. With our expert medical training, we are better positioned to deal with any problems or complexity, in the unlikely event that it should arise. Our experienced dentist has a deep understanding of the facial structure, facial balance, and muscle and nerve location. Therefore,  our patients can trust that they are in a safe and knowledgeable pair of hands.

BOTOX

Wrinkle-relaxing injectables work by weakening the muscles that are responsible for dynamic folds, lines and creases in your skin (e.g. crows feet and frown lines). As the skin begins to flatten, the lines soften or completely disappear altogether, and aging skin assumes a more youthful look. Generally, repeated treatments are necessary for continued wrinkle-reducing effects. Most of our patients find the effects last for 3 to 6 months. Utilising a series of anti-wrinkle injections, our experienced cosmetic dental team at Rubery Dental Surgery will help you improve your natural appearance rather than alter it. We use Botox to treat the following:

  • Glabella Lines - vertical wrinkles that appear between the eyebrows and the bridge of the nose

  • Crow’s feet - lateral lines that appear at the corners of the eye

  • Forehead wrinkles or Frown Lines - when the brows are raised and lines can appear

DERMAL FILLERS

Dermal fillers for a softer and more youthful look, these provide a cosmetic solution to dull, sunken-looking skin. Safe and easy-to-apply, they’re a popular treatment for many patients. Dermal fillers are used to soften the deeper creases that are present when facial muscles are at rest. These include laugh lines or “marionette lines.” These lines are a result of the natural collagen and elastin in our skin lessening as we age. Our skin becomes drier, thinner and loses its flexibility. Dermal fillers can be used to add volume, recontour the cheeks, midface and lips. Dermal fillers tend to last between 9 to 12 months. â€‹

Your questions ABOUT BOTOX

What is Botox?

Botox is a popular treatment that provides a smooth and refreshed-looking face. It’s among one of the more broadly used cosmetic treatments and has become a popular method of delaying the ageing process by reducing wrinkles and fine lines.

Will Botox prevent/get rid of all of my wrinkles?

Botox work best on wrinkles associated with movement in the face and neck, known as dynamic lines. So, while an excellent treatment for fine lines, wrinkle relaxers may take a few months to work on deeply ingrained wrinkles to allow the skin to resurface naturally. Deeper lines can often be treated through other options, such as dermal fillers or a combination of treatments tailored specifically for your needs.

Is it painful?

Most people describe wrinkle relaxers as a little uncomfortable, rather than painful. Some factors may make the treatment feel more painful, such as stress or hormonal fluctuations. We apply some topical aesthetic prior to injection, if requested, to numb the area and make the treatment more comfortable.

How quickly are results visible?

Patients normally see the results from the wrinkle relaxers between 4 days and 2 weeks after treatment. Some patients may require a little top up for optimal results sometime between 10 and 14 days after the initial treatment.

How long do wrinkle relaxers last?

For most people, wrinkle relaxers last between 3 and 4 months. We advise people to expect 3 months’ worth of results from their first treatment. Some patients do find that the effects of treatment last much longer.

What are the side effects?

Injectables and fillers are some of the safest and least invasive procedures available. Side effects are minimal and occur in only less than 1% of cases. Of these side-effects, the most common is a slight stinging sensation that's rather mild and tends to dissipate quickly, some patients experience bruising, which passes in a number of days. If you are concerned about the side effects, speak to your dental specialist.

YOUR QUESTIONS ABOUT Dermal Fillers

What is a dermal filler?

A dermal filler is a biodegradable gel that functions as a synthetic version of a naturally-occurring skin component. It is made from Hyaluronic acid (HA) and helps to hydrate and provide volume to your skin, keeping it looking full and young.

What are the benefits of dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are used to supplement the lower amounts of HA or increase the volume of areas of the face that concern the patient. Due to the composition of dermal fillers, they also keep the skin more hydrated, providing a fresher look. Dermal fillers can be used in a number of places: lips, cheeks, nose, chin and tear troughs, all to contribute to a more youthful appearance.

How long do dermal fillers last?

The results from dermal fillers can last anywhere from 6 months to 24 months; it is dependent on the dermal fillers used and the place in which it is applied. Your dentist will be able to provide you with a more accurate guide during your consultation.

How long does the procedure take?

The first step towards dermal fillers is to arrange a consultation so that your concerns can be addressed and the right treatment planned for you. Generally, the actual application of dermal fillers takes between 20 and 60 minutes.

What are the risks associated with fillers?

There are some side effects to the injections, which are mainly superficial such as tingling and bruising

How much do dermal fillers cost?

Dermal fillers start from £165. During your treatment consultation session, you will be provided with a comprehensive treatment plan which includes a more accurate costing, before proceeding with the treatment.
